Antique Jam Cupboard
- An antique French Jam Cupboard, with a craftsmanship associated with French provincial style furniture.
Traditionally cabinets like these were utilised to store preserves, and associated jam making sundries.
A slim drawer to the top with beautiful carved detail, incorporating the handle. Below there is ample cupboard space with internal shelving. The cupboard door is embellished with an intricate carving depicting a bird in an inverted position surrounded by floral detail in high relief.
To the sides are 2 impressive fluted columns, giving this wonderful piece an elaborate presence.
Complete with the original lock & key.
Circa : Late 19th century.
Condition : Used, outside of the cabinet in good condition, inside with a little age related wear commensurate with use.
