Antique Sculpture
- An early antique rootball sculpture, depicting a horse in a standing position. A somewhat primitive carving, with simplistic angular features rather than highly detailed realism. The legs are stylised & slightly asymmetrical, with the front legs extended forward, whilst the hind legs form a more abstract shape.
The horses head has a distinct downward curve, with visible tool marks further confirming a bespoke hand carved piece.
The overall finish has a wonderfully aged patina, adding to its antique appearance & charm.
Circa : Late 19th century.
Condition : Used, minor faults near the back legs (repairable) overall good.
