Table top in hard stone, 20th century
Rectangular table top. "Bird and butterfly". Marbles and hard stones. 20th century.
Tabletop decorated with a central motif of a perched bird and butterfly surrounded by a shield with scrolls and branches, highlighted by a frame with scrolls, scallop shapes in the corners, lacework, flowers and fruit. Both stylistically and technically, its decoration is inspired by examples made in Italy after the development of hard stone inlay in the 16th century, which spread throughout Europe due to its highly valued workmanship.
Measurements: 180 x 90 cm.
