A beautiful portrait miniature on bone depicting, probably, Mumtaz Mahal, wife of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The world famous monument Taj Mahal was dedicated to Mumtaz Mahal. A delicate image in a round gilded frame. Circa 19th century or early.
