Henry Koehler, American, 1927 to 2019, oil painting on canvas laid on panel, Jockeys Room Chat, 2006. Signed lower right. Framed. Additionally inscribed, titled, and dated, on the backside. A paper label of Rafael Valls Li, on the backside. Provenance: Shapiro Auctions, Mamaroneck, NY, United States, October 21, 2023, lot 218. Henry Koehler was an American artist, known for Sporting horse genre, aviation, marine. Koehler was a member of the Society of Illustrators in New York City, serving as its first vice president, and of the Yale Association of Fine Arts in New Haven. He exhibited at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco and at prominent galleries and racetracks in New York City, California, New Jersey, Virginia, Kentucky, England, Ireland, France, and Italy. One of a kind artwork.
