Ca. AD 610 - 641.A rare Byzantine gold coin pendant representing the Emperor Heraclius with the son and future Emperor Constantine III. The Emperor is shown crowned and wearing a long tunic fixed on the right shoulder with a circular bulla. An inscription on the top of the coin surrounds the two figures. On the back of the pendant is a cross surrounded by inscriptions.Size: 24mm x 20mm; Weight: 4gProvenance: Private collection of an Oxford professional, formed in the 1970s-1990s on the UK art market.
