ATTIC BLACK FIGURE KYLIX WITH SWANS
Ca. 550 - 500 BC.An elegant Attic kylix (drinking cup). The vessel presents a classic form with a deep bowl upon a pedestal base and twin upturned loop handles. The kylix is decorated with swans and cows. On the sides of the handles are two stylised black and purple palmettes. This is a beautiful example, made to be associated with the celebratory ceremonies of the Dionysiac cult.
