Ca. 400 - 200 BC.A pair of Hellenistic gold earrings consisting of a thick tapering wire connected to an openwork large band. The large band is decorated with gold threads and pellets to form triangles, with a larger gold pellet on the top. The earrings have a curved shape. The hook rises from one end and curves back, tapering slightly to fit through the wearer's earlobe.. Size: 30-35mm x 30-30mm; Weight: 10gProvenance: Private collection of an Oxford professional, formed in the 1970s-1990s on the UK art market.
