AN 18K GOLD INDIAN GOLD ENAMELLED TRINKET INLAY
India, Ca. Late 19th century AD. An oval belt buckle or trinket inlay, decorated with floral motifs with vibrant polychrome enamel on a white ground. The intricate gold-outlined foliage and blossoms in red, blue, and green showcase the fine craftsmanship associated with Mughal and Rajput decorative arts. The red enamel border enhances the visual depth of the piece, a technique often seen in Indian enameled objects from the 19th century.Size: 65mm x 55mm; Weight: 40gProvenance: Previous property of a UK based Islamic art professional.
