Sefer Yam Shel Shloime. ים של שלמה Rav Shloime Luria. Tractate Baba Kama. Yasnitz.1723
First print in Yasnitz and second print after being printed previously in Prague in the year 1626. Printing in Yasnitz was due to a lack of available copies. This copy was funded partly by the great grandchild of the Yam Shel Shloime, Abraham Zoiref Luria. Yam Shel Shlomo, Luria's major work of Halacha, was written on sixteen tractates of the Talmud; however, it is extant on only seven. In it, Maharshal analyzes key sugyot (passages) and decides between various authorities as to the practical halacha. Maharshal, famously, objected to Isserles's method of presenting halachic rulings without discussing their derivation. He wrote Yam Shel Shlomo to "probe the depths of the halacha" and to clarify the process by which those halachos are reached. The pages are water-stained and last two pages missing top corner. Cover and binding fading and slightly damaged. Sefer is bound well and in solid condition.
