"On the right, a close clash of three knights, one of whom from behind with a plumed hat and sword leaning forward on a gray pomellato steed, is hit point blank by the pistol of one of his armored opponents, plumed helmet and blue breeches. In the foreground a white horse is lying on the ground, his rider having been thrown from the saddle; another, also footed and wounded, seeks escape by moving away from the fray. On the left side, under a cloud of dust, bursts on the scene a trumpeter with a blue cloth, on a black horse. The epicenter of the battle is represented in a reduced exhibition meter in a valley, at the foot of a rocky slope surmounted by an isolated round tower. "
