Per sei anni li frequenta e ne diventa intima amica ritraendoli in tutti i momenti della loro vita, dal ”battere” nei vicoli all'incontro con clienti. Qui è ritratta la ”Morena” da cui Fabrizio De Andrè ha tratto spunto per comporre la canzone Via del Campo. During new year's holiday of 1965 L. Carmi makes the acquaintance of some transvesites in the first Italian ghetto of transvestite prostitution and begins to take photographs of them. She frequents them for six years becoming a close friend. She thus portrays them in every moment of their lives, from walking the streets to meeting their clients. Here is the portrait of ”Morena” who inspired Fabrizio De Andrè to compose his song ”Via del Campo”.
