Mohammad al Atiq (Qatar, 1966) “Crawling”, 2003 Oil on canvas 70 x 50 cm
Mohammad al Atiq is one of Qatar's most prominent artists and graphic designers. Born in 1966, he showed an inclination for drawing and painting from an early age.
In 2002, he represented Qatar at the Venice Biennale. He also received the ‘Best International Symposium’ award from the Bassamat Association in Morocco and, thanks to this, Atiq was also awarded the title ‘Ambassador of Peace and Culture’ by the Peace and Culture Bridges Organisation in California.
Al Atiq's contribution has been significant for Qatari art, in fact one of his works ‘Acacia-Tree Seed’ is part of the public art installations of the Qatar Museums.
Signed and dated lower left and on the back. Provenance: the owner had it directly from the artist.
