In his practice, Mambeygi expanded his interest in calligraphy, including in his work also letters and writing coming from the East Asian tradition, more specifically the one from Japan.
Mambeygi is mentioned in H. Keshmirshekan, An Introduction to Contemporary Iranian Art (Persian ed.), Saqi Books, 2013, pp. 308-309.

In this painting, the letters are arranged in such a way as to generate abstract shapes, emphasized by black and white with touches of vivid colours and the succession of solids and voids. An influence of American Abstract Expressionism can also be recognized in his works.
