Fahar al-Salih (Belgrado, 1964)Untitled, from the series ‘Baghdad Blues’, n. 2083, 2024Photograph, plexiglass, brass, wood30 x 20 x 2 cm
Fahar al-Salih was born in Belgrade in 1964 to an Iraqi father and Serbian mother and grew up in Kuwait before moving first to Vienna and then to Germany. He currently lives and works between Karlsruhe and Baghdad. In the photograph of the series 'Baghdad Blues', the viewer observes the glimpse of a nocturnal Baghdad. A parked car and a religious complex sit in the background while a few green chairs, a table, and a fan attached to a pole occupy the first floor. People are not included in the photograph, but their presence is strongly felt through the religious building and everyday objects.
