Majdaldin Hajizadeh (Istanbul, 1925 - 2012)Untitled, 1989Oil on canvas 100 X 156 cm
An architect by training and an artist by passion, Hajizadeh has lived between Turkey, Austria, Germany and Iran, where he is among the founders of the faculty of architecture of the renowned National University of Mellin, in Tehran. He has been painting since 1967 and has participated in various exhibitions in Iran and Austria. The style of his production fluctuates between cubism and abstractionism, as in the work shown here, which appears to depict a hunting scene with barely visible characters emerging from the white hatched background. Signed and dated lower right.
