A roman red jasper intaglio. Mount Argaios.

A very rare depiction of the mount Argaeus, a volcano in Cappadocia (Turkey), in the southern side of Cesarea city. The interesting subject is represented on roman coins from the imperial time, especially during the Antonine dynasty period. On top, a laurel wreath. Small chip on the edge.
