A rare roman green chalcedony intaglio. Bust of a bearded man.

7 x 10 x 2 mm
The male character is facing left and characterized by thick hair and beard similar to the Severian dynasty portraiture. This private portrait could be confronted to the eastern provincial portraits of Septimus Severus, by the zoomorphic (?) detail presents on his chest. Large use of drill technique. Very attractive color of the stone.
