A roman red jasper intaglio. Fortuna, Serapis and Mercury.
3rd century A.D.
13 x 16 x 5 mm
This triad presents the god Serapis in the center, seated on a throne wearing the modius. He holds a scepter in his right hand and with his left one, he carries a cup toward Mercury who extend his right arm with a laurel wreath. On the left side, Fortuna with her cornucopia and rudder, is facing the gods. Under the groundline, the letter "H". Allegorical scene referred to abundance, wealth and prosperity.
