A roman burnt chalcedony. Venus Victrix and Mercury. 2nd - 3rd century A.D. 12 x 15 x 6 mm The goddess is depicted nude, wearing a drapery on her legs and a diadema. Standing against a little column, she holds in her right hand an helmet and a spear in her left one. In front of her, Mercury, holding the caduceus in his left hand and a bag in his right one. On the ground, in the center, an altar. Groundline. Votive scene referring to good-luck and victory. The large convex stone is burnt.
