An etruscan intaglio on carnelian scarab set on a modern gold ring. Male figure and animal. 4th - 3rd century B.C. Intaglio mm 18 x 11 x 8; ring diam. mm 19, gr 5,28 Etruscan intaglio on carnelian scarab, set on a modern gold ring. A man kneeling on an animal, to immobilize it. A small chipping in the lower section of the stone. References: one similar specimen is preserved to the Metropolitan Museum (Inv. n. 41.160.504), and it is depicted Herakles with a deer.
