A GOLD ORNAMENT WITH A DRAGON AND A BUDDHIST LION
China, Ming dynasty
Finely worked with repoussé and thin incisions, it depicts a dragon flying amidts clouds and flaming darts and, on the left, the head of a Buddhist lion.
13,5 x 6 cm
Provenance: Italian private collection.
It is most likely a piece that was originally part of a more complex ornament, perhaps covering sections of a fabric dress.
