Japan, second half of the 19th century
The suit consisting of a jacket and hakama trousers, in blue cotton on which are scattered heraldic emblems ( kamon).
Provenance: Italian private collection.
The kamishimo was a garment used by samurai over the armor in order to give the impression of greater physical power.
