Scène de bistrot is a wonderful black and white etching with burin interventions on paper realized by an anonymous artist, after the Flemish artist Adrian Van Ostade (1610-1685). A beautiful scene of raw realism in a tavern with diners portrayed in their everyday life, smoking, or pouring wine, with curious women looking at and hearing the conversations of the bystanders. The image is also intact, except for some discolorations; the sheet has visible foxing along the margins. Generally in good conditions, this old master's original print has preserved all its charme until today. Including a beige cardboard passepartout.
32 x 23.8 (foglio), 39 x 30 (passepartout)
