Originally classified as an anonymous print by the School of Marcantonio Raimondi, the work was attributed by Bartsch to Philippe Soye, a pupil of Cornelis Cort. Rare proof on paper with the watermark 'Shield with letter M and star', Briquet n. 8392, Ferrara 1580. Perfect condition of the sheet, with thin margins beyond the platemark.
