Busto Papa PIO X
Rare bronze bust of His Holiness Blessed Pope Pius X, with the inscription of His Holiness Pius X on the plinth base. Lost wax bronze, signed CARLINI - ROMA on the back, and bearing the mark of the French foundry C. VALSUANI - PARIS - FONDERIE. Mid 20th century, Marcello Valsuani. It measures about cm. 43 in height, 24 cm in width. In excellent condition.
Valsuani, Claude (? -1923)
Lost wax caster active in Paris from 1908 to 74 in Rue des Plantes. Claude Valsuani probably arrives in France with his father, as well as with his brother Attilio. Unlike his competitors, he doesn't try to hire contract artists and gives them complete freedom. He contributed significantly to the international reputation of French bronze in the 20th century. When Claude passed away, his son Marcel succeeded him equally honorably, using the C. VALSUANI trademark - Bronze in excellent condition, mid-20th century, height 34 cm, width 24 cm
