FRENCH FOUNDRY XVIII-XIX CENTURY
Maenad with tambourine, or Allegory of Autumn
Mercury gilded bronze. 24 x 19 x 15 cm
Exquisite figure of a maenad sitting on the ground, holding a tambourine and showing off grapes in her long hair.
No signatures are present, but closely resembles sculptures from French artists such as Joseph-Charles Marin (1759-1834) or Claude Michel Clodion (1738-1814).
