Coated bronze. 16 x 13,5 x 11 cm
A pitcher Inspired by unknown archeological findings, perhaps Pompeian.
The body is ovoidal in shape, with a human-shaped handle and a goat on the ribbed spout.
Items such as this were designed for the Grand Tour and meant for the eyes of wealthy and cultured tourists enamored with classical antiquities. A fine taste born in the 1700s and well alive up until the first decades of the 1800s.
