Italian silver ostensory reliquiarie - Ferrara (?) 1698
characterised by a square base with four curved feet, richly decorated with four cherubs' heads alternating with vine leaves. The base, similarly decorated, ends with a gilded globe on which, resting on one foot, rises a winged putto supporting the reliquary case with a sunburst frame decorated with cherub heads alternating with ears of corn, the whole surmounted by a cross.
Front and back mirrored, hinged opening door. On the sides of the base are the inscriptions 'Anno 1698' and 'Ferrara' and 'ARCHIP F.F.'.
Height 53 cm, base 13 x 13 cm. Total weight 1558 g.
