Polychrome majolica small plate, Deruta, second quarter of the 16th century
painted in shades of blue, green and yellow on an orange background, it has the convex cavetto in which the bust of a Roman emperor is depicted with the head of the laureate caught in profile; the brim hosts an elegant vegetal motif composed of long leaves joined by a sort of ring and spirals that end in a corolla. The external wall is occupied by a stylized decoration that imitates a sequence of petals, centered by the initials LB surrounded by small stars, 18cm. d. (firing defect on the cable)
