Important gilded wood frame, Spain, circa 1680 - carved to depict a dense decorative motif consisting of a profusion of curls of foliate volutes with crumpled tips, shell valves and heads of winged cherubs, distributed with elegant symmetry. The central part, strongly projecting, evokes an architectural score with curved and sinuous lines with the ultimate aim of surprising the spectator thanks to the continuous movement of the overflowing decorative elements typical of the Baroque, maximum size: 97by80cm., maximum overhang: 13cm.; front sight: 24by19.5cm.
