We are offering a huge selection of antique prints and engravings from 17th-20th centuries.


Subjects included are natural history, architecture & designs, caricatures & humour, classical (including Egyptology), religious & historical, famous buildings and views, maps, sporting events, royal and historical portraits.


We particularly feature ornithological prints by John Gould, Jacques Barraband, Conrad Susemihl, Beverly Morris, FN Martinet, Cornelius Nozeman, Peter Mazell, William Swainson, Prideaux J Selby, William Lewin, Jean-Baptiste Audebert, Robert Gillmor and Edward Lear.

Rare - Sparrow Hawk by Peter Mazell 1766
This rare hand coloured copperplate engraving is from The British Zoology by Thomas Pennant (1726-1798). Published by J. and J. March, London: 1761-1766. Thomas Pennant's renowned natural history book The British Zoology is mentioned in the writings of Charles Darwin. He was a Welsh naturalist and travel writer, achieving distinction in both fields. As a zoologist, he participated in the Transactions of the British Royal Society, corresponding with leading scientists of his day such as Linnaeus. Drawn and engraved by Peter Mazell after a painting by Peter Paillou. Size: 14in x 20.5in (36cm x 52cm)
