INERT WW1 British Trench Art Cap. Made from an 18 Pounder shrapnel shell dated 1907 and indicating to have been reused in 1915. The driving band forming the strap and a small flaming grenade applied to the top centre. The base heavily marked with War Department and other ammunition inspection marks.
