A pair of fossil Gryphaea arcuate (Lamark 1801) of Lias, Jurassic age (205 – 180 million years old), from Frethern, SW Gloucester, UK. Dimensions: 79 x 53 x 48 mm and 76 x 47 x 47 mm. Both specimens in excellent, complete condition.
NB: Gryphaea is commonly referred to in English folklore as “Devil’s toenail”
