HASP8d Flown cover C Kingsford-Smith cover signed H. A. Litchfield WW1 Veteran HMAS Melbourne. 9 June 1978 Brisbane Air Commodore Sir Charles Kingsford - Smith. Flown Cachet Flown on the route taken by Sir Charles Kingsford - Smith during his record breaking flight. Personally Signed H. A. Litchfield. In March 1917 became an apprentice with the Australian United Steam Navigation Co. Ltd and joined his first ship the SS Levuka under the command on Captain R S Sharland. A year later he joined the Royal Australian Navy serving on HMAS Melbourne until February 1920. Personally signed by H. A. Litchfield who flew with Kingsford-Smith on long-distance flights in the 1927. Last surviving member of the great flight made by the southern Cross was Sir Charles Kingsford Smith Navigator in Southern Cross for many record flights with original Silver Vignette which shows the 1928 Trans-Pacific Flight and the continuation round the World. Certified Copy no 0095 of 1250. Signed by Gp Capt W S O Randle WW11 Wellington Pilot ( 125 but numbered 01 - 125 of 1250 and certified. These extra original vignettes, which were designed for the last flight of the Southern Cross have only just come to light and have been kindly donated by their designer Mr Ernie Crome. See note 2 In the RAF Museum Reference Book. Details enclosed with Black and White photo of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith looking at a Globe. Good condition.
