FIRST EDITION in Italian of one of the most important texts related to the famous 'Prester John'. Published just a few months after the Embassy of King David to Ethiopia on 29 January 1533, it contains four letters, two to the Pope and two to the Kings of Portugal, D. Manuel and D. João III, from the Ethiopian Sovereign and one from D. João III, written in Setúbal in 1532. It is expressly stated that the letters from the King of Ethiopia were translated into Latin by Paulo Gióvio. According to Leite de Faria, it is not possible to know the author of these texts.

Very rare and very important.
