THE ACCIDENT
7 August 1982: Pironi's accident at Hockenheim
It rained a lot on the morning of Saturday 7 August 1982, a black day for Ferrari, which also lost Didier Pironi during testing for the German Grand Prix on the Hockenheim circuit, the victim of a violent and bloody accident.
It is the epilogue of a career that seemed to foresee many other goals for that blond and tenacious son of Friulian immigrants who had racing in his blood. However his life will not end with this crash, but will end dramatically five years later again due to water in an offshore race off the Isle of Wight.
1982 gave Ferrari a competitive car, the 126 C2, which in addition to being beautiful is also very fast. Unfortunately, the same year, on this single-seater, Gilles Villeneuve had tragically lost his life in Zolder and Pironi himself had been the involuntary protagonist of Riccardo Paletti's drama in Montreal, when his Red number 28, planted on the grid, had been hit violently by the Osella of the unfortunate Milanese driver who started from the rear.

Condition:  Very good
