Giancarlo Antognoni (Marsciano, 1 April 1954) is an Italian sports manager and former footballer, playing as a midfielder. World champion with the Italian national team in 1982.
Flag and captain of Fiorentina between the 70s and 80s of the twentieth century, with whom he played his entire professional career in Italy (he ended his career in Switzerland, in Lausanne), among the Viola players he holds the record for appearances in all competitions, with 429 games, and in Serie A, with 341 games. With 73 games in blue, he is also the Fiorentina player with the most appearances for the national team, with 7 goals scored.
In 2018 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Italian football in the Italian Veteran category.
