Italian National Volleyball Veterans, year 2012.

He made his debut for the national team in Aosta on March 18, 1986, in the match won by Italy against Argentina 3-2. He played there until 1996, being part of the so-called generation of phenomena with which he collected over 200 appearances.

After his retirement

He commented as a technical part some matches of the men's Superleague and the women's A1 for Rai Sport. He also plays in the Over 40 national team with which he won 2 European Veterans Championships (2007 and 2009).

In 2011 he wrote the preface of the book Seen from inside by former teammate Carlo Alberto Cova on the history of the Parma team, of which Claudio Galli was captain for two years.

In May 2020 he published the book In viaggio con i matematica where he illustrates the secrets that, in his opinion, characterized the group of volleyball players of the Italian national team of the 90s, renamed the generation of phenomena. In the same year, in November, he was among the protagonists of the documentary Il Grande Slam - Generazione di matematica, which focused on the Grand Slam achieved by Parma in the 1989-90 season.
