A Silver Wedding Double Cup, by Simon Rosenau, Bad Kissingen, Germany, Late 19th Century
Finely repoussed and engraved. The bases with original Aramaic inscriptions. Fully marked.

Provenance: Isaac Halperin Collection
Notes: Simon Rosenau (1839-1920) worked in Bad Kissingen from 1862 and also had a branch in Paris. His son Hermann Simon Rosenau (1861-1943) took over the business in the 1890's and retired in 1932. He was deported in October 1943 to Auschwitz via Drancy.
