Modern oil painting "Venice Landscape" Tamura Konosuke Konosuke Tamura was born in Osaka in 1903. He studied under Nariko Koide and Katsuyuki Nabei. Before the war, he was active in the Nika Society, and during the war, he created many powerful war paintings at the request of the military. After the war, he participated in the establishment of the Nikai Painting Society and continued to be active in the organization, often visiting Europe such as France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, and Spain, where he painted many landscapes. He often used bright tropical colors and Fauvist-style lines to paint naked women, dolls, and flowers. Art critic Takachiyo Uemura described his style as light, bright, and profound.
