A 19TH C. MEISSEN PORCELAIN BACCHUS GROUPING
A finely modeled and neatly hand-painted Meissen porcelain group figure depicting the drunk Bacchus riding on a mule that is fed with grapes by a female companion. The young man supports God, and the cherub teases the animal by pulling its tail. Raised on a gilt-decorated base. Marked on the bottom with Meissen's crossed swords in underglaze blue.
Dimensions: H: 8 1/2 in., (21.6 cm.)
Condition: Very good, no chips or cracks.
