Engraved plate on a separate insert and an illustration in the text. Composite binding: leather spine with blind stamping, patterned paper, speckled edges. Pre-revolutionary library stamps. Signature on the second flyleaf: "To the Society of Physicians."
The first separate edition of the Russian naturalist, founder of the domestic physiological school, and pioneer of the natural-scientific direction in psychology, Ivan Sechenov (1829-1905). This work was first published in 1863 in the "Meditsinskiy vestnik" [Medical Herald].
