Alexei thanks his correspondent for her letter and apologizes for the delay in responding and states ´The idea of the removal has no more attractive than the wedding one for me, and I vegetate in my kitchen garden, smelling the new roses and thanking heaven for the small sunlight sent.´ further saying `You are right, dear Countess, denying gossips about my august person, whose modesty aspires only to be forgotten!!´ The Grand Duke concludes referring to other members of the Imperial family, stating `The Heir is just gone, radiant, to England, and we will only know, once he is back, the exact date of his wedding. Regarding my niece´s one, it is still fixed for end of July. That is a likeable date to me because it also means your return, which will please all the ones who love you, and above all to me!
