BONHEUR ROSA: (1822-1899) French Painter and Sculptor, well-known for her paintings of animals. Bonheur was widely considered to be the most famous female painter during the nineteenth century. An excellent A.L.S., `Rosa Bonheur´, one page, 8vo, n.p., n.d., in French. Bonheur in her particular hand-writing states in part `You will be so kind to get for me a permission to take water treatments..´, she further explains that she has postponed the decision, not wanting to disturb his correspondent, and says `..but my health demands so, and I send you my request, persuaded in advance of your kindness which has always been so high with me..´ With blank integral leaf. Very small overall minora age wear, otherwise VG
