ZURN UNICA: (1916-1970) German Author. Well remembered for her photographic collaborations with Hans Bellmer, her anagram poetry and automatic drawing works. Rare A.L.S., `Unica´, one page, 4to, Paris, 11th August 1957, to Jean Jacques Leveque, in French. Zurn accepts her correspondent´s proposal and states in part `..Yes, in principle, I agree with the small exhibition proposal…in exchange and to compensate expenses, you will choose a gouache, one of the unsold ones..´, further saying `For the invitation cards, I would suggest a small poem that Mr. Mandiargues has written for me a year or two ago… I intend to entitle the exhibition ''A drawing notebook'', (''Un carnet de Dessins'') or something similar. The intention would be to exhibit twenty or twenty five small format sheets, pink paper, and interrupt the serie with 5 or 6 gouaches, or oil paintings of larger format.´ Before concluding Zurn explains that she is considering to leave Paris definitively in the very next future.
