FERDINAND I OF BULGARIA: (1861-1948) Monarch of the Bulgarian State 1887-1908, and later as Tsar 1908-18. Under his rule Bulgaria entered First World War on the central Powers side. T.L.S., `Mit Vielen Gruessen, Ferdinand´, with large flourish, signed in pencil, one page, 4to, Svaty-Antol, 16th January 1944, to chapel master Carl Fichtner in Coburg, in German. The letter bears to the upper left corner a blind embossed Royal seal. Ferdinand thanks his correspondent for his greetings and states `I warmly thank you and your wife for the friendly congratulations conveyed to me on the occasion of Christmas and the turn of the year, and we warmly reciprocate them´ Very small overall minor age wear, with creasing to the right edge.
