STANISLAVSKI KONSTANTIN: (1863-1938) Russian Theatre Director. The “Stanislavski´s System” is named after him, being a systematic approach to training actors that he developed in the first half of the twentieth century, cultivating the “Art of Experiencing” in contrast with the “Art of Representation”. Rare T.L.S., `C. Stanislavsky´, one page, 4to, New York, 27th February 1924, on the Moscow Art Theatre printed stationery, with their printed logo to the upper left corner. Stanislavski states `Thank you very much for your sending me fifty slips of my forthcoming book, which I received today´ sheet with attractive watermark. Stanislavski most probably refers to his autobiography which he reluctantly wrote in 1923 at the request of a US publisher.
