CLAIR RENÉ: (1898-1981) French Film Director. Signed and inscribed 7 x 9.5 photograph of Clair in a head and shoulders formal pose. Signed in 1947, in bold black ink to a clear area of the image, `to the Nouvelle Gazette with all sympathy, René Clair´. To the verso bearing a long text in a collector´s hand reporting on the inscription and the reception which took place the day before in Brussels, at the French information Centre, during the Brussels Cinema Festival where Clair presented his film Silence is Golden (1947). The Photograph is inscribed to the lectors of the Belgian newspaper Nouvelle Gazette. Few small creases, otherwise VG £100-150
