CEAUSESCU NICOLAE: (1918-1989) President of Romania 1974-89. Executed. & ELENA CEAUSESCU (1919-1989) Wife of the President. L.S., `N. Ceausescu´ and `Elena Ceausescu´, one page, large drawing folio, n.p, 12th November 1987, the letter being a tribute to Josip Tito. Ceausescu, in his capacity as President of Romania, states in part `We honour the memory of the leader of the Yugoslavian people, Josip Broz Tito,
founder of the new Yugoslavia, a close friend of us and of the Romanian people.´, in Romanian. Boldly signed by Ceausescu and his spouse Elena in black ink. An attractive and cleanly written document EX £150-200 Josip Broz Tito (1892-1980) Yugoslav Revolutionary and Statesman. He gained further international attention as the chief leader of the Non-Aligned Movement. Widely considered a soft dictator, but also a unifying symbol bringing peace and coexistence.
